Banc of America Capital Investors is a private equity and mezzanine partnership that manages over $2 billion of capital for Banc of America. Capital Investors has more than a decade of success in providing junior capital for growth financings, buyouts, acquisitions, and recapitalizations. Since its founding in 1993, it has invested over $1.3 billion (65% equity and 35% subordinated debt) in more than 100 transactions. Capital Investors recently raised its third fund totaling $875 million from Bank of America, its limited partner.
Capital Investors invests in a broad range of industries including Media & Entertainment, Telecommunications, Healthcare, Technology, Consumer Products & Retail, Manufacturing & Distribution, Business Services, Financial Services, and Natural Resources. Within these industries it has historically tended to focus proportionately greater capital resources in sectors that are experiencing fundamental growth and change. Its telecommunications team has been quite active in funding the growth of voice, video, and data infrastructure and services companies.
