Executive Officer
Mr. Herman joined Knology in December 2003
as its Chief Financial Officer and Vice President.
He was promoted to President in March 2005 while
continuing to serve as CFO, and in January 2006 he
was promoted to Chief Executive Officer and continues
to serve as President.
For the four years prior to joining the company,
he was VP, CFO and Corporate Secretary of Martin
Group, Inc., a telecommunications engineering, consulting
and software solutions firm with more than 300 ILEC
and CLEC clients offering wireline, wireless and
Internet services throughout rural America.
Mr. Herman spent 1996-1999 as Treasurer of Hexcel
Corporation, a $1.2 billion NYSE-listed company
making advanced structural materials primarily
for US and European aerospace and electronics
industries. His responsibilities included all
investor and bank relations, and capital and
risk management for the company's operations
in the US and seven Western European countries.
During 1988-1996, Mr. Herman worked at USL Capital,
Corp., the commercial financing subsidiary of
Ford Motor Company, where he held positions as
Vice President, Corporate Analysis reporting
to the Chairman and as Vice President, Finance
of the two largest operating divisions. During
1980-1988, Mr. Herman held various finance positions
at Ford Motor Company and Ford Motor Credit Company. Mr. Herman was actively involved in over a dozen mergers & acquisitions and divestiture opportunities at each of his prior companies. He was responsible for post-acquisition integration efforts at USL Capital (doubled the size of the company), and the acquisition and integration of GeoEconomics, Inc. at Martin Group.
Mr. Herman received his MBA from Stanford University in 1980 and undergraduate degree in computer science from Hope College, Holland, MI in 1978. |
