Vice President, Sales and Marketing
Mr. Galinanes joined Knology in November 2005 as Vice President,
Sales and Marketing. He has experience in the telecommunications,
financial, energy, and e-commerce industries.
Before joining Knology, Mr. Galinanes served
for two years as Director, Office of Customer Service
for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority
in Washington D.C. While interfacing
with many government agencies and elected officials,
he represented the riding public and added technologies
to improve the riding experience for the community.
From 2001 through 2003, Mr. Galinanes served as
the VP of Retail Operations for ACN Energy, a retail
energy provider based in McLean, VA. At ACN, he managed
marketing, sales, customer service, and had responsibility
for the company’s revenue growth.
During 1999 to 2001, Mr. Galinanes served as VP
of Customer Acquisition and Retention for Simplexity,
Inc., a newly formed and venture funded company,
whose mission was to create a new way for people
to sell and purchase telecommunication service via
Internet.
In 1999 he served as Director of Global Customer
Service for Teleglobe International, where he was
tasked with building and creating the company’s
Global Customer Support center in Montreal, Canada.
Mr. Galinanes spent 1993 through 1999 at Cable
and Wireless, Inc. as Director of Operations. He
managed the day-to-day operations of company’s
Fortune 50 customer global data networks and customer
base. In 1998, he was involved in the $1.3 billion
acquisition of MCI’s ISP business.
From 1988 through 1993, Mr. Galinanes worked as
a credit and sales manager for Transamerica Commercial
Finance in Columbia, MD and Westbury, NY.
Mr. Galinanes holds a B.S. degree in marketing from
St. John’s University (Jamaica, New York). |
