To help protect
your computer from becoming infected with a
potentially damaging e-mail, Knology has
a virus filter on our network. This filter
is the first line of defense that should work
alongside your local virus protection software.
Knology updates its known virus database constantly to ensure our servers
are as current as possible. This allows the filter to quarantine the majority
of the known viruses being transmitted through e-mail.
When an e-mail is sent to a Knology
user, it will be run through our virus filter.
If the message contains a virus that is documented
in our database, it will not be delivered.
Rather, it will be quarantined and the message
will not continue to the recipient.
Some viruses are designed to hide or “spoof” the
sender’s address, so you may not know
who sent the message. Unfortunately there
is little Knology can do to stop this
or record who the original sender was. In
this event, please rest assured that the
virus has been blocked.
