Setting up Outlook Express For Email (Black Hills Only) If you need to change your email settings from an IMAP account to a POP3 account click here. Step 1 Once Outlook Express is running, click on “Tools”, then “Accounts”. If this is the first time running Outlook Express, the wizard will start automatically, in which case you can skip this step.
Click on the “Mail” tab on the top of the window. Now click on “Add” and then “Mail”.
Now put your name into the “Display name” field. This name will appear in the “From:” field on all of the email you send. When finished, click next.
Type your full E-mail address into the “E-mail address:” field. This should be your account name followed by “@rushmore.com”. This should be all lowercase. When finished, click the “Next” button.
“POP3” will already be selected for your incoming mail server type. In the “Incoming mail server” field type “pop3.rushmore.com.” For the “Outgoing mail server” field type “smtp.rushmore.com.” When finished, click on the “Next” button.
In the “Account name:” field, make sure the first part of your email address is listed correctly (should be all lowercase). Now in the “Password:” field, type your password. If you would prefer not to type in your password each time you check your mail, check the “Remember Password” box. Also check the box for “Log on using Secure Password Authentication” and then click “Next” when done.
Click Finish! We’re almost done!
Next, click on “pop3.rushmore.com” so that it is highlighted. Then click “Properties”.
Now click on the “Servers” tab and choose the “My server requires authentication” option. Then click on the “General” tab. Step 10 Under the General Tab, you will find the first field will be “pop3.rushmore.com”. Change this to your email address and then click on the “OK” button.
Now, click the “Close” button on the “Internet Accounts” window.
Your email account is now set up and ready to use. Click on the “Inbox” on the left side of the screen to read your emails when they come in.
